Women Empowered Farmers Projects
A small village called Cluny in the remote rural landscape of Mauritius with just over 1000 inhabitants hosts an impressive hydroponics agricultural project. The project was set up by a local businessman and philanthropist. The local village women are trained and employed with the latest agricultural techniques and the income they have received have lifted them out of a life of abuse and domestic violence. The whole dynamics of the village has changed to a more positive and trusting people. You are fundraising for further training classes for the local women to build livelihood projects and avoid villagers leaving the village to seek employment in the City. A chance to volunteer along side with the women is on offer with the Authentic Mauritius trip.
